My husband recently switched to Verizon because he gets better service at work with Verizon than he does with his previous carrier. To save money in the long run, I really have to make the switch too. I have been agonizing over the switch for some months now.
I'm a long time Blackberry user, but as the community manager for this site, the Blackberry internet browser isn't suited to approve events and suspend spammers on the go. I was really excited when RIM introduced the Torch, but you can only get it on AT&T. So until yesterday, I thought I would have to get a Droid when making the switch to Verizon (Verizon does not carry the Blackberry Bold or the Torch).
Then the news comes that the iPhone is coming to Verizon with pre-orders being taken starting February 3, 2011!! Now I'm really agonizing...
- should I get a Droid phone now or wait for the iPhone?
- do you think that the Verizon iPhone is going to cut deeply intro Droid sales?

I hate to do it because I really want my phone to be a phone and be able to disconnect a little...but for business, I think it's worth it. I stress if I go out now because I might miss an email (freelancing does have a couple of downfalls!)...this would alleviate that...and if I get a 2nd line, I can write it off more easily...
sigh...progress is finally slowing down for me...I think. ;-)

Permalink Reply by 3PigsProduction on February 2, 2011 at 3:43pm I am wondering how Apple will handle adding a new iPhone in June. It will be interesting. I actually think Apple will hold off making major changes to their next iPhone until they can get all models in-line with each other. But Apple does what Apple wants so who knows :-)
The major disappointment I think many non Verizon customers moving from AT&T to Verizon will be the lack of using voice and data at the same time. Current Verizon customers will be use to it and not really expect the feature that many of us AT&T users have had since the launch of the iPhone.
I would like to see the iPhone go to both Sprint and T-Mobile as well. I really don't like either AT&T or Verizon based on their current data gauging pricing schemes. I have a feeling other companies might be more competitive.

Permalink Reply by 3PigsProduction on February 3, 2011 at 1:00pm AWESOME!!!!!! I will be interested to hear what she thinks! I heard there were some problems with the web servers breaking under the traffic pressure of people ordering so you were lucky!
Congrats!
