Hey everyone, my name is Cheryl. I'm a single mother of one (Kyler, 8 years old). I moved to Tracy in 2003 and love how tight our community is! I am unemployed (which seems to be the going trend these days). I volunteer at my son's school and as a fire department CERT member. Looking to gain new skills to further my experience and get my foot in the door of a new career. I love to write on my free time (Non-fiction and fiction). Tracy Island has helped my meet new people and I look forward to meeting even more! The Tracy Virtual Office is very welcoming whenever I stop by and I hope to network myself there when I spruce up my resume!

Hi, everyone. My name is Nick, and I was born and raised in Tracy. I went off to college in southern California (where I met my wonderful wife) and just couldn't get used to the concrete jungle, so I came back here to live and work. I work for Patriot Pest Management, doing their technical work on occasion (former IT Helpdesk) but mostly driving the route and taking care of insects, rodents, pigeons, and more. We do almost all aspects of Pest Control, so it's never boring, and I love it!
Hello All! My name is Quinn O'Brien. i am a 20 year old college student going into my third year at Chico State studying Biology. I have lived in Tracy for almost all of my life and been active in the baseball, soccer, and tennis communities during this time. Currently, I work as a tennis instructor for the city Arts and Rec department as well as independently. I am looking forward to meeting new and interesting members of the Tracy community.
Well I guess I never did introduce myself properly! My name is Forrest and I have been living in Tracy for 8 years, originally from San Jose and I have been in California my entire life. I found the Tracy Island Online site through Facebook. I think it's great to have a social networking site dedicated to the many different aspects of living in and around our city. Thanks for having me!
Hi, I'm Curtis. I've lived in and out of Tracy for about 15 years now. I usually traveling for Film and TV work or working locally with Fitness. Im always interested in whats going on downtown and try to get involved when and where I can. I joined Tracy Island's to also meet people outside of my current social network and promote different events that I host.

Hi, my name is Candy.

My husband and I have lived in Tracy for 10 years (it went by so fast!). We both commute, and I like to check on the Tracy Island to find out about carpools or vanpools, but have not had any luck over the years. I am amazed that there isn't anything organized to support this need, since I am sure many of us do commute.  I took the train 3x per week last year, but it cut too much extra time out of my day (1 hour longer each way) so I would really like to find a driving buddy who also goes into Santa Clara (or nearby).  I am not interested in the office space concept, as my company has set up a home office for me and I am able to work from home once a week. But the other 4 days a week I have to be in Santa Clara for Meetings, etc.

Being on the road so much really puts a limit on our social life also, leaving so early in the morning (5:30am) and going to bed early (8-9pm) leaves us with little time to make friends and share fun activities with others our age. That is something I really miss - it seemed like we had so much more free time when we lived in San Jose! We also live in the country (Banta area) and the houses are so far apart, we really miss that 'neighborhood' feeling.

Tony,

I was on the Mount Hood from 1979 - 1981. Were you there then?

Hey Tony, I thought that you were Evie's husband! Nice to have you on Tracy Island. When is Evie signing up?

I'll jump in on this too Joleen. Thanks for this thread, it's a great idea.

Jambo (hello in Swahili) everyone! My name is Tony Adams, and I too live here in beautiful Tracy with my wife of 14 years Evelia, or Evie as most know her as at Bank of the West. We have three kids, Anthony (12), David (11) and Angelica who's 8. We've lived in Tracy since 2000, and prior to Tracy, we both lived in Santa Clara.

I'm currently a Deputy Sheriff in San Mateo County and have been since 1997. Prior to the Sheriff's Office, I was a Police Officer for the city of East Palo Alto. My career there began in 1989. I'm a Navy Veteran and I served on two ships; the USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) and the USS Mount Hood (AE 29) and I served a four year tour on shore duty at a P-3 squadron (VP-31) at NAS Moffett Field. During my naval career, I traveled to the far east twice and visited some amazing ports, meeting some amazing people along the way.

I'm an avid Harley rider, bar hopper, party goer, Jazz listener and love vacations on the high seas (cruises). On my days off, I love hanging out at home with the family, but I also enjoy getting away and heading to places like Reno at least once a month.

Meeting new folks is a MUST, especially those of like mind and those who live in Tracy.

But, enough about me. Next Please!
