I have about 10 corns getting ready...tomatoes are crazy...and the cukes and artichokes just keep on coming. My fruit trees are new this year, so no fruit (well a couple of teeny peaches but that's it)...lots of fun though!

Waiting for my bell peppers to turn red! The limes are about ready to be picked and the green beans plants are just now starting to produce beans. How's your garden?

I just boil/steam them and dip them in mayo...normally mayo is the worst thing on the planet for me, but on artichokes...yummmm.

I've heard that they are not easy to grow out here...but boy are they easy in my yard! :-)

I will have to plant those next year since they seem to do so well for you here in the Tracy soil. How do you cook them and what kind of dipping sauce do you make?

so I harvested 3 of those 5 artichokes...still have 2 on one plant and SIX on the other (the new one!)...I think I'm a natural artichoke farmer!

Just picked my first beautiful yellow squash from my garden. Once they get growing, they get big really quick! I've got more on the way ....

Thank you Rainey and Debbie. I will check out HGTV and M&M Garden Supply store. its a three day weekend maybe I can get done in that time period or at least get started on it. I guess when you own a house you really don't get to rest.

Hey Amita,

you could also do a natural yard. The folks across the street from me do that. M&M Garden Supply out East of town on 11th (past the old Heinz Factory) have great people to help you out. Plant some bulbs and some natural grasses and some flowering bushes like roses...and you get a great landscape with not too terribly much maintenence (the weeds often look like they fit in!). I love their yard...and might go that route myself someday! Plus...it is VERY eco-friendly and water-smart!

Oh boy Amita .... that is a project! We live on an acre and I have to do weed patrol everyday ... lol If you go to HGTV's website, they have all kinds of ideas for lawn and garden ideas. My sister lives in Arizona and they have rock yards ... they love them!
