Profile Information

About Me: Tell us a little bit about yourself, your family and what you do for a living
I grew up on a farm near the city of Osborne in the great plains of north-central Kansas. I was class valedictorian and Student Council President of my high school, and went on to graduate in the top 5% of my class at the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York.

I served my country for 30 years in the United States Army, and retired as a Colonel of the US Army Special Forces (the Green Berets.) While in the Army, I served as Deputy Commander of the 1st Special Warfare Training Group, as Commander of the 4th Special Operations Support Command (Theater Army) (Airborne), and served on diplomatic assignments at the U.S. Embassies in Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, Korea.

After retiring from the Army, I joined General Electric Company and served in a variety of positions with various GE affiliates. I am currently employed by Westinghouse Electric Company, where I serve as a program manager in the company’s nuclear energy business.

I am a resident of Tracy and active in the community, currently serving as President of the Tracy Sister City Association and as a Board Member of the Tracy Hospital Foundation. I am also a member of American Legion Post 172, the Tracy Breakfast Lions Club, the West Side Pioneer Association, and the Tracy Chamber of Commerce.

My wife Debbie and I have three daughters: Judy, Kathie and Erika, two son-in-laws: Glyn and Scott, and seven grandchildren: Huw, Kyle, Anna, Evan, Kara, Kallie and Ryan.
Where do you live?
Tracy

Hi Bob,
Glad you are now a city council, I know you will do what is best for Tracy and it's citizens. I met you at this years Veterans day event. I respect our military, and my fellow Nam Brothers. Back in 1966-67 we did a few joint opps with 5th group. You and your family have a great Christmas and "welcome home bro"..
Sincerely
Jason Fell

Larry, Just because one judge who happens to be gay found that law unconstitutional, doesn't mean that it is. If it gets to the Supreme Court and they deem it to be, still doesn't necessarily make it so either. The Constitution is our "supreme law of the land"....article VI sect. 2 You need to read the Constitution itself, the Federalist Papers and the Anti-federalist Papers to understand the real meaning of the Constitution. Many people, including judges and justices have misinterpreted the intended meaning of the Constitution over the years including the Supreme court upholding slavery! There is a long process of appeals still to go. Feel free to read our response to BDR for more information.

BDR, Just because someone prefers traditional marriage, does not make them a bigot. I would bet that Bob Elliott does not have a problem with gay people just as my wife and I do not. The majority of our laws in our country are based on values. Would you support polygamists marrying 50 people and allowing all 50 of those people getting benefits from that persons employer because they are married? I would bet not. Those of us that were in favor of proposition 8 are not opposed to gay people having civil unions. Because our values are different, does not make us bigots.

Do not believe the leftist media that the Tea Party organizations are racists either. How would you explain that there are people of ALL races involved in the Tea Party and that there are numerous minority candidates that are supported by the Tea Party? Just because we don't support the policies of this President, does not have anything to do with his color, but with his radical policies which we can defend and are willing to discuss at any time. By the way, President does not support gay marriage either. Does that mean that he is a bigot? By the way, I highly recommend Clarence Thomas' Memoir book!

Bob, I understand that the Keena Turner Golf Tournament raised a lot of money for the Boys & Girls Club. Its great to hear about all the celebrity football players coming out to support a great program.

Hi Bob! Wanted to let you know I tried going to your website via my iPad and iPhone and couldn't see anything because it was designed using Flash. I would suggest you have your webmaster create a mobile friendly site so that mobile users can view the content. Flash is pretty much a dying medium thanks to the popularity of Apple's iPad and iPhone.

By the way I am also from Kansas. I am a Wichita boy! :-)
