- About Me: Tell us a little bit about yourself, your family and what you do for a living
- The “Hire Me First” Internship Program was established to promote youth employability through increased employment opportunities, internships and job shadowing experiences for the youth in our community.
Through their participation in work activity and with private sector participation, youth have the opportunity to:
• Acquire a better awareness of employer expectations.
• Develop strong work maturity, work ethic and a sense of responsibility.
• Participate in career exploration that buildsan awareness of job opportunities available in our community to help them make better career decisions.
• Develop job specific and transferable skills that they can apply in future employment opportunities.
Mission: Local businesses which support the “Hire Me First” Program will help develop the fundamental knowledge of work ethics, skills and proficiencies needed by the participants to effectively obtain and maintain future employment.
Businesses:
• Control the selection process by conducting interviews and selecting an intern of your choice from qualified candidates.
• Decide your level of commitment.
• Train interns according to your company’s needs.
• Have direct input with developing the skills of our future workforce.
• Expose the employment & career opportunities available in your industry.
• May be training your next employee.
• Provide a service to your local community.
• Are recognized for their business leadership and support of their community
Share your expertise by participating in the “Hire Me First” Internship Program.

2010-2011 Hire Me First Mock Interviews
Hire Me First is excited to begin planning Mock Interviews for the 2010 - 2011 school year. We are looking for volunteers to conduct "hypothetical" job interviews at local high schools in the Fall and Spring.
