Coffee Party - Tracy Chapter

What is the Coffee Party?  Tracy Coffee Party is a bunch of people that want to see the government work better. We're busy with making a living, raising our families, and enjoying things we like to do with our free time.  But we've seen neighbors losing their homes to foreclosure.  We see public services being cut and taxes raised.  And, we find that the leaders we have elected are more focused on posturing and making each other look bad than finding solutions to these problems.  Things are not…See More

Election Day - Suds to YOU buster!

OK some of us are passionate about issues & candidates. Other folks don't even bother to get up out of their chair and cast a vote. Here's something new that started up just this year in San Francisco to encourage people to participate on Election Day.http://www.straightupvote.org/StraightUpVote/Welcome.htmlDrinking holes around town have gotten together and offered a drink - any drink - for the price of $0.50 if you…See More

Toll Roads in Tracy?

The Tri Valley Herald reports that some motorists traveling on I680 between highway 84 in Sunol and highway 237 in Milpitas will begin paying toll fees on Monday, September 20th.The way it will work is that individual motorists that have a FasTrak device may pull into the carpool lane. They will then be automatically charged something between $0.30 and $6.00 depending on the time of day. This new stretch of toll road is the first in what Bay Area transportation planners intend for most major Bay…See More

Tracy Police Log - Chapter 2

6:32 a.m.: A person reported a car was stolen from the 2800 block of Georgia Drive within the past 30 minutes. The person left the car unlocked while warming it up with the keys in the ignition. The car is described as a grey Nissan.

(Carjacking Tracy style -  We unlock the door and leave the keys in the ignition.  Hell, we'll even start the car for you.)

Tracy Police Log - Chapter 1

1:01 p.m.: Someone stole a man’s lawnmower and blower while the man was working at Texas Roadhouse

"Hey Boss. I was workin' doing the lawns around the restaurant where you sent me. You know, the Texas Roadhouse. An' geez I just had to take a pee. I was gone like two minutes, yeah, I swear, maybe three minutes. They took our riding mower, Boss, and the blower. I dunno how they picked up up, Boss, but it seems to be gone…

Local Government Does the Right Thing

The District had raised rates and the higher revenues produced a budget surplus. A proposal was made to pay District managment bonuses of up to $16,000 per person.

Instead, the Board members voted to use the…
