As crazy as it sounds, I have heard about things like this years ago from conspiracy theorists in connection with the formation of a North American Union between Canada, Mexico, and The U.S. I never really try to pay attention to things like that,…

I'm 40 years old and married to a wonderful woman. I couldn't ask for better in-laws and very happy with the way my life has begun to turn. My family moved to french camp in 76 and from 2nd up to delta colledge born and raised in sanjoquine. Moved around abit after that and hit the coast, and nevada but nothings like home. I've been a chef, feeding the student body of U.O.P. , A gymnastics coach for gyms in manteca, modesto, stockton, yuba city, and santa cruz . Currently I am taking some time to look around and see what's going on. I love to carve and some of my work can be seen in local DownTown Tracy business's, like Helm's
Where do you live?
Tracy
What city do you work in?
DownTown Tracy
What do you want to get out of joining the 'Tracy Island' network?
I am the self proclaimed unofficial mascot/spokespersonality for the DownTown Tracy area. My goal is to get everyone to do more than just shop at the mall off of 205 and check out my hood. So take the time to come see my friends and maybe get lost in my part of the triangle.

A VERY SPECIAL BEER

I just found out that we here in Tracy are very privalegde to have the only keg of Stone Brewery's anivercery ale in all of northern california. This is a very limited addition brew that can be tasted at Helm's Ale House in down town. I spoke with the destributore outside of Helm's and was told that not even the city has this one. Kevin Conway the head chef at Helm's told me they would be tapping it later this week. So if you want to taste it like I do check in with them this week and when I… Continue

The President's Community Forum Series hosted by UOP at Haggin Museum

I was invited by the CEO of the Cultural Heritage Council to attend "Beyond our Gates Into the Community" the final part of the President's community forum series. The event was held at Haggin Musium and had a panel of community leaders and educational professionals. The forum covered the subject of how we as a communities can help to bring back the arts. Mr. Peter Jaffe music director of the Stockton Symphony for 15 seasons explained how music has been found to help with many different facets… Continue

Strong arming the little guy

I resently took a trip into downtown stockton and stoped in at a friends restuarant. My buddy runs the Beach Hut Deli over in the movie theater plaza off El Dorado in downtown. I had remembered going in on friday nights and hearing live music, but had realized that latly there was no music and the place although steddy was not as lively as it had been in the past. So I asked if they were still playing on the weekends or if the economy was causing cut backs? To my suprise I was informed that… Continue

You can change a persons day

We all have ups and downs in our lives. We all face the challenge of making ends meet, taking care of our families, and dealing with our own personal issues what ever they may be. In my case I deal with manic/depression.(Bi-polor) I have been treated and deal with my swings the best I can. For those who aren't aware of what happens to a manic/depressent here is a brief example at least of my case. I will go for days with out sleep, have a million thoughts rush though my head all at once, have… Continue

Would you like to carry a gun?

I was reading the San Joaquin Herald today, and found on the front page an article dealing with a group that advocate that all citizens carry guns. "Wow", I thought to myself, 'how do I feel about that"? My first responce was concern. People walking around armed, is a very sobering thought. I envisioned our downtown area with all my neighbors sporting holsters, men with 9mm's,revolvers,and desert eagle magnums for those of us who are compensating, ladies with cute shiny pistols and fashion… Continue

Howdy! I left two very large tree trunk sections on your front porch. Just about the right size for some serious tiki carvings. A neighbor had a crew out cutting down his tree... and I was driving out on the way to the AltamontCowork facility... so I stopped and asked if I could have those two chunks (they hadn't cut them up and run them through a shredder yet). They helped me load them into the truck. I knocked on your door when I came by, but there was no response... so I just left them on your porch. So.... if you are wondering where those two huge chunks of wood came from... now you know. :-)

Hi Tiki....I would love to sit down some time and talk with you and your wife about our animal shelter. I was part of a citizens advisory committee last year that a full report was generated on regarding our shelter and the suggested improvements and recommendations. I would be glad to share that with you and get your thoughts on how we can improve how we handle the animals we house in our city's shelter. You can call my cell at (209) 740-7211 and we can set up a time to have coffee and talk. It was good meeting you in person and seeing you at the tradeshow! Take care.............Larry

Hi Tiki...I got your message about the animal shelter, and thanks for your offer. I'm involved in several pet projects here in town....I'd like to talk with you further about. I understand that you will be at our Entrepreneur Trade Show tomorrow, so I'll try to catchup with you there.

Take care......Larry Hite
