Kindle Fire

Anybody getting a Kindle Fire? Mine should be on the way. Of course being an Apple geek I will be careful not to show my iPhone or iPad the new Kindle device. Don't need any jealous fights :-)

Early reviews aren't great for the Kindle Fire. The major drawback appears to be viewing magazines and web browsing isn't great on a 7inch screen. I kinda already knew that. The iPad is the perfect size for reading magazines on a digital device. However the price point of $199 is going to bring a lot of people into the e-book tablet world and that is exciting.

It is hard to believe that it was 4 years ago this month when the first generation Kindle was unleashed to the world. I do have a soft spot for all e-book readers.

I am also excited about my Kindle Fire since this will be my first exposure to the Android world. I might try and port some of my iPhone/iPad apps to the Android world.
