I am very new to Tracy and my Fiancé and I really love good food, surrounded by a pleasant experience.

Every Friday we have "Date Night". We pick a restaurant and head out for a some quality time together.

In the past living in Fremont, we have enjoyed dining out at Strizzi's for amazing food, pleasant atmosphere and great company in the Manager, Kent and the Bartender, Stacy. We have also enjoyed Fremont's La Piñata for great Mexican food and even better Margaritas. And Pizza... no better Pizza than Mission Pizza for it's amazing sauce, must have been over 50 different beer on tap and then there is the live music on Saturday nights.

I have mentioned all of the above to say that I am looking for the "whole dining experience", as well as great food for a fair price.

So tonight we decided to visit Sergio's on 11th. WOW, is this the most expensive restaurant in Tracy? Well, besides the price let's talk about the food. My Fiancé REALLY enjoyed the Pork Chops, the portion was huge, they were cooked perfectly and the sides weren't bad either. I on the other hand had the Risotto Special. The Friday night Risotto Special was Snow Crab and Salmon Risotto in a Champagne Sauce. The presentation was very nice, the small Snow Crab legs were covered in Sauce and placed over the Risotto. That was the crab they spoke of. The Risotto was bland, sticky and OVER priced.

The experience was nice, the decor was kind of cheesy but so far this is the best experience yet.

Food = 3.5 out of 5
Experience = 3.5 out of 5
Price $$

Tell me what you think, where should we go next Friday?

Hi Shanna,
I am also from Fremont and know about all the faboulous fine dining there. My husband and I love trying new restaurants as well. If you like Mexican food I highly recomend "Jorge's El Tapatio" restaurant on 11th street. The food is authentic, the prices are very reasonable. They also have karaoke and mariachi nights. The other restaurant that we loved to dine at was "Lake of Fire" Kevin the culinary chef was awesome and even catered our twins baptism last summer. Lake of fire has closed down but the chef along with Mr. Helm are opening the brand new Ale house on the corner of Central Ave and 10th street. I believe it is called Helms Ale House. It is suppose to open this week. Kevin the culinary chef does plan on having some of his menu items that he served at the Lake of Fire restaurant. His prime rib is to die for. I look forward in hearing some other restaurant reviews from other members.

Shanna,

Like your review; I too feel this restaurant is over priced. I been once and do not plan on going back the pasta was over cooked and bland. As for the decor, "kind of cheesy" is being generous.

I do not have a recomendation for your "total experience" here in Tracy. Most eaterys are chain based, with only a few options. You might try M&J's on Grant Line. I like it.
